The instructional facilitator will be responsible for supporting students enrolled in guided self-study courses in the Center for Self-Directed Learning (CSDL), focusing on the social sciences and humanities fields:
- Introduce students to CSDL policies and procedures. Assess the effectiveness of orientations and make revisions based on the results.
- Facilitate courses in the Center for Self-Directed Learning (CSDL). Develop and implement course curricula, including syllabi, tests, and technology. Update course content as needed to ensure it remains current, particularly with regard to technology. Engage with students to evaluate the effectiveness of the courses.
- Monitor student performance and progress. Track students' progress, provide feedback, and assess their homework, quizzes, and tests.
- Offer content tutoring and assign grades to students.
- Maintain student records.
- Collaborate with faculty and related departments to ensure CSDL courses align with college objectives and act as a liaison to those departments.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of the CSDL.
Job Requirements:
- Master's degree in the social sciences or humanities.
- One (1) year experience and/or training that includes teaching/course facilitation, content tutoring, course/curriculum development and instructional technology; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Proven ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff and student population.
- Require to work one evening shift (12:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m.).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of self-study model of teaching and learning.
- Experience in Community College setting.
Additional Information:
Salary Range: $68,201 - $73,477. Actual Salary Will Be Commensurate With Education and Experience in Accordance with MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement. Full state Benefits.
Grade: 5 Unit-Professional position
